What does ChronoCast actually do?
You photograph a place — a ruin, a street corner, a café, your own kitchen — and ChronoCast returns a short comic about that specific place: four to six illustrated panels, narrated aloud, with burned-in subtitles and a vertical video you can post. You choose the world it becomes and the voice that tells it.
Does it actually use my photo, or just the style?
Your photograph is sent to the illustrator with every single panel, not just the first. The geometry, the landmarks and the vantage point stay recognisable underneath the illustration, so the result is a comic about the place you stood in rather than a generic scene in a style.
Do the characters stay the same across panels?
Yes. ChronoCast writes a scene bible for your photo first — the setting, the light, and an exhaustive description of each character — and injects that description word for word into every panel. Without it, generated panels drift into unrelated strangers by the third one.
Who narrates it?
You choose from four narrators — the Wise Philosopher, the Gossip, the Weary Detective and the Shōnen Herald — each with its own writing style and its own voice. You also choose the angle: told as history, as a witness who was there, or by the place itself.
Is the history real?
ChronoCast writes evocative fiction grounded in your photograph, not a verified historical record. It is instructed to avoid asserting specific names, dates or events it cannot stand behind, and to stay general rather than invent a citation — but it is a storyteller, and anything it tells you should be enjoyed as a story rather than cited as fact. Future scenes are speculation throughout.
How long does a comic take?
About two to three minutes end to end. ChronoCast reads your photo in a few seconds and hands you the editable sentence, then draws and narrates each panel in turn. The reader opens when the whole comic is finished, so you never start on a half-drawn story.
Is ChronoCast free?
Your first comic is free, with no account and no card. After that, ChronoCast Pro adds every narrator, six panels instead of four, and video export. A one-off top-up is available if you would rather not subscribe; purchased credits never expire.
Do you keep my photos?
No. There is no account and no cloud library — your comics live on your phone. Photos are sent to our processing service and AI providers only to make the comic you asked for, and are not retained to build a profile of you. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
