VisuCraft turns a photo of a physical project into a step-by-step visual guide. To do this, the photo you capture is sent to our processing service and to our AI provider, which analyze the image and return a structured guide. This Privacy Policy explains what VisuCraft accesses, what is sent off your device, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The short version: VisuCraft has no user accounts. The photos you choose to turn into a guide are sent to our backend and AI provider solely to generate that guide; they are processed transiently and are not used to build advertising profiles or sold. Your generated guides are stored locally on your device.

1. Information You Provide

The core input to VisuCraft is a photo — either captured with the camera or chosen from your library — of the project you want help with. When you use the AI Mechanic or Step Check-In, you may also send additional photos and short text messages. This content is transmitted to generate or refine your guide.

2. How Your Photos Are Processed

When you generate a guide, verify a step, or ask the AI Mechanic a question, the relevant image and text are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to:

  • Our backend service, which orchestrates the request; and
  • Anthropic (our AI provider), whose model analyzes the image and produces the guide content.

This processing is transient: the image is used to produce your result and is not retained by us to build a profile of you. Anthropic processes the request under its own commercial terms and does not use content submitted through its API to train its models. We do not attach your name, email, or an account identifier to these requests.

3. Device Permissions VisuCraft Uses

  • Camera: To photograph the project you want a guide for, and to take checkpoint photos for Step Check-In.
  • Photo Library: To let you choose an existing photo to turn into a guide.

You can change or revoke any permission at any time in the iOS Settings app. Without camera or photo access, VisuCraft cannot generate a guide.

4. Where Your Data Lives

  • Generated guides (steps, parts, the source photo, and your progress) are saved locally on your device in the app's library so you can reopen them offline.
  • Manuals are rendered to PDF on your device and are shared only when you choose to share them.
  • We do not operate a cloud library of your guides. Deleting the app removes this local data.

5. Analytics

VisuCraft does not embed advertising SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized App Store and crash statistics through standard developer tools; these do not include your photos.

6. Subscriptions

VisuCraft offers an optional VisuCraft Pro subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never receive or store your payment-card details. Your subscription status is verified on your device using Apple's StoreKit — we do not maintain a server-side account of your entitlement. See our Terms of Use for subscription terms.

7. Third Parties

The external parties involved in VisuCraft are: Apple (in-app purchases and system frameworks), our hosting provider (which runs the backend that relays requests), and Anthropic (the AI model that analyzes your photo). We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

8. Your Choices

  • Grant or revoke Camera and Photo access in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Choose which photos you turn into guides — nothing is sent until you start a generation, a check-in, or a mechanic question.
  • Delete any guide from within the app, or remove all local data by deleting the app.
  • Manage or cancel a Pro subscription through your Apple ID settings.

9. Data Security

Requests to our backend and AI provider are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Guides stored on your device benefit from iOS's built-in security and your device passcode/biometrics.

10. Children's Privacy

VisuCraft is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
