Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

OpusCam is a photo-cleaning app that helps you free up storage on your iPhone. It is built to be private by design: all photo analysis runs on your device, there is no account to create, and your photos are never uploaded to us or anyone else. This Privacy Policy explains what OpusCam accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The short version: OpusCam has no servers and no user accounts. Your photos, videos, scans, and notes never leave your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

OpusCam does not have a backend server and does not require an account. We do not collect, transmit, or store your photos, videos, documents, location, or any personal content on our systems. There is no cloud sync operated by us.

2. Device Permissions OpusCam Uses

OpusCam asks for the following permissions, and uses each only on your device:

  • Photo Library (read & write): Required to analyze your library for clutter, duplicates, and large videos, and to delete the items you choose. Analysis happens locally using Apple's on-device Vision framework.
  • Camera (optional): Used for Quick Capture notes and the document scanner. Captured images are stored locally on your device.
  • Location (optional): Used only for the Parking feature, to remember where you parked and guide you back. Your location is stored on-device and is never transmitted to us.
  • Notifications (optional): Used to remind you when photos are ready to clean up. Notifications are generated locally on your device.

Every permission is optional except Photo Library access, which the core cleaning features rely on. You can change or revoke any permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

3. Where Your Data Lives

OpusCam stores its working data locally on your device:

  • Scan results & thumbnails are kept in the app's local database so you don't have to re-scan each time.
  • Quick Capture notes are saved in a private folder inside the app (an isolated vault), not your main Photos library.
  • Scanned documents (PDFs) are saved on your device and shared only when you choose to share them.
  • Reclaimable-space numbers are shared with the OpusCam Home Screen widget through a private on-device app group.

Deleting the app removes this local data. Photos you delete through OpusCam are removed via Apple Photos and go to your "Recently Deleted" album, where iOS keeps them for a period before permanent removal.

4. On-Device AI

OpusCam's "Magic Cleanup", duplicate detection, and quality scoring use Apple's on-device Vision and image frameworks. No image or its analysis is sent to any server — yours, ours, or a third party's.

5. Subscriptions

OpusCam offers an optional OpusCam Pro upgrade (monthly, annual, or one-time lifetime) sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never receive or store your payment-card details. Apple returns an anonymous transaction record that the app uses on-device to unlock Pro features. See our Terms of Use for subscription terms.

6. Third Parties

OpusCam does not integrate advertising SDKs and does not share your content with third parties. The only external party involved is Apple, which processes in-app purchases and provides the system frameworks (Photos, Vision, Notifications) the app runs on.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

7. Your Choices

  • Grant or revoke Photo, Camera, Location, or Notification access in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Delete scanned notes and documents from within the app.
  • Remove all OpusCam data by deleting the app.
  • Manage or cancel a Pro subscription through your Apple ID settings.

8. Data Security

Because OpusCam keeps your data on your device, it benefits from iOS's built-in security and your device passcode/biometrics. We do not operate servers that store your content.

9. Children's Privacy

OpusCam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
