By downloading or using the Meowstanbul iOS application ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
Meowstanbul is a guided city exploration application designed to help users discover cat-friendly walking routes and hotspots in Istanbul, Turkey. The app provides curated route data, probability-based hotspot information, a community sighting feed, and related features. It is not a live animal tracking service.
You must be at least 4 years old to use this app. By using the app, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the app for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
The app allows you to submit sighting reports, community tips, and photos ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion.
Meowstanbul is built around respectful discovery. By using the app, you agree to:
Hotspot data, route information, and cat likelihood scores are curated estimates based on general observations and community data. They do not guarantee the presence of cats at any location at any time. Meowstanbul makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information in the app.
The "Near Me" feature requires location permission. Location is used only to identify nearby routes and hotspots and is processed on-device. Granting location permission is optional; the app remains functional without it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The app uses Open-Meteo for weather data. Use of the app implies acceptance of Open-Meteo's terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.
All content, design, graphics, and code in the app — except User Content — are owned by or licensed to Meowstanbul and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. "Meowstanbul" and the app's visual identity are proprietary.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Your use of the app is at your sole risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Meowstanbul shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or property damage incurred while following routes or visiting hotspots.
We may update the app or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time, with or without cause, if we believe you have violated these Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict of law principles.
